Moms work better TOGETHER with Toyota
Our Sidelines and Pearls Team received a generous sponsorship from Toyota to travel to the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl and the Valero Alamo Bowl.
First stop, Houston! I (Laura Leigh) drove down from Dallas with my husband early on game day to take in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The museum serves as the only United States venue for the exhibition, Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits from Holbein to Warhol. The ride from Dallas was smooth, thanks to the 2019 Toyota Highlander! The car has lots of room for passengers, and my husband marveled at the bucket seats in the backseat area. This is a great feature for families. We also had room for charging all of our technology without needing to share USB ports.
After our afternoon of sightseeing, I got ready for gametime! I arrived in style with the Highlander, and after a whole day of driving, I still had a quarter of a tank of gas left in the car. The mileage is incredible.
From date-time to game-time, this vehicle is there for any situation in the life of a busy mom.
The fun did not end in Houston! After an exciting win by Baylor over Vanderbilt at the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl, my husband and I loaded up the Highlander and headed out to San Antonio. The most impressive statistic of the trip: we traveled from Dallas to Katy before we needed to stop for gas.
That’s amazing gas mileage for a vehicle and one more reason the Toyota Highlander is a ride.
After arriving in San Antonio, it was game time once again! I got ready to cover the Valero Alamo Bowl, featuring the Iowa State Cyclones and the Washington State Cougars. The fans from Iowa enjoyed the warmer climate of San Antonio and hosted a series of fun tailgate parties that I happily crashed. After pregaming, I watched a well-matched game which ended in a Washington State victory. Two games with 8 pm kickoffs in two days meant I stayed up past midnight for both nights to cover the postgame pressers. Thankfully, I had comfortable rides back to my hotel with the Highlander both nights and arrived safely at my hotel each night in no time at all.
The games were over, and it was time to return home. Once again, we loaded up the Highlander, with plenty of cargo room for our bags, and took the trip home to Dallas.
We only stopped for gas one time and returned home with fun memories and wanting a Toyota Highlander of our own! Maybe for my Christmas 2019 present?
Thank you, Toyota!
